Since our 3-year-old loves sushi rice, we ordered some rolls including cucumber rolls and a roll with something mixed with mayonnaise. Our 7-year-old, who is a fan of egg, had five servings of tamago. The 11-year-old chose eel and another dish. My wife ordered the premium nigiri. We also got a simmered dish that all the kids enjoy. The rolls were a bit rough around the edges, almost as if they were trying too hard to be thin rolls. The simmered dish had a slightly stronger flavor, cooked for a longer time, and the texture of the fish was quite firm. While they didn’t have the seasonal fish varieties you might expect from a sushi shop, the prices were quite reasonable.
Considering the price, the quality of the fish in the nigiri was appropriate. There was no fishy odor, and it seemed to be slightly aged. Everything was quite tasty. In regions where fresh seafood is abundant, it’s common to find restaurants that handle their ingredients poorly, resulting in loss of flavor, but that was not the case here. It is a bit far for a casual visit, but I would certainly like to return if I visit Shikoku again.
I had the nigiri set meal for 1200 yen. I felt quite full afterward. The rice was a bit on the firm side. The tea and soup were cold.
