Windegg - Zürich

This is a hotel AND restaurant with panoramic views of the city of Zurich and the lake. It's a great location. The good is the restaurant where we had a nice meal, although the portions were small and expensive. The bad one is the hotel. We felt that something was not right when we moved in the game and there were no other cars. That was a warning. The second warning was when we were asked to pay in advance for our room, although we gave a credit card for our reservation. We should have inspected the room... it was obsolete with old facilities and needed a renovation. It was our fault... it was much below the average for the price we had to pay. The third strike was breakfast. At check-in we were not asked if we wanted breakfast, but this is also a restaurant. When we went down in the morning, we were denied food because they didn't make plans for us... The place has a high potential, but is very in need of renovation. If I could give NO stars, I would.

It was ok but for the price below average. The third strike was breakfast. Not even offered breakfast when checking in and not having ordered ahead we were denied food in the morning. The place has high potential but it's sorely in need of renovation. The rooms are dated, the fixtures old. Probably a first class hotel in the 1970s.
