It is also very special for the Malteser so dress respectful. Look at pictures. The WW2 shelters are cut by hand into the rocks and are really amazing. You can just spend an hour exploring the tunnels. Follow the tunnels to the end and find the chambers of the knights. This is a fascinating underworld of the past and a true credit for the wartime Malteser. Look at pictures. The museum itself is a fantastic view of the past. Many paintings and works of art dedicated to the saints and knights of Malta. If you have seen all this, try the café / restaurant on site. Sit in the courtyard and simply enjoy.
The best way to spend 5€ Plenty of seeing and learning catacombs, gallerie, choir and history. At least time you are in 1 hour (if you do marathon style) has watched and admire us two and a half hours of pure fun learning. Must visit!
Museum, catacombs, WWII shelters, grotto of St. Paul, all included in the same entry fee. People with decreased mobility can have problems moving through the catacombs as the floor can be slippery and there are many narrow spaces and stairs. The museum is nice, with many religious objects.
Superfun family activity. The catacombs are exciting for the kids. The art is focused on Christian dudes who fought battles 500 years ago which was mediocre, but the size of the museum is excellent for a short walkthrough.
Great value for money. Was surreal and a bit scary walking through the catacombs, grotto and war shelters. The path seems to never end.
