Dum Pukht - York

We have been here a couple of times this last year and have always found it to be good. This time was no exception. The lamb rogan josh was absolutely first class. We also enjoyed the chicken biryiani and the prawn masala. Prices are reasonable, being noticeably less that Ambyan in Unionville. On the downside the place is beginning to show its age with scuffed tables and chairs. Also the service was pretty amateurish.

Pricey Food, Very Small Portion, Below Average taste of an authentic Indian cuisine. Dum pukt biryani tasted like masala rice that we get on Air india flights Horrible service, had to wait for 1 hour 20 minutes for food to arrive. Manager Lady with glasses very rude. Not meant to be a manager or even a waiter. No customer service skills what so ever. Only thing nice about this place was the ambiance. Spoiled our evening by going to this place. Never ever.

I have enjoyed their meals on many occasions ...do not order their tea ..t takes them at least an hour to make it and the service is quite impersonal for an intimate restaurant

Excellent food and ambiance. The service is pleasant and attentive but lacks the touches of a fine establishment.

This was the first time we ate at this restaurant. The decor was impressive but very poorly maintained. It seemed that the owners lost interest in maintaining the place after overspending on the aesthetics. The ladies washroom was extremely filthy. It took a long time to be served because they were understaffed, The food was okay but we felt that it was overpriced. The staff were polite. The owner who was present during the course of the meal took no initiative in connecting with the customers.Not a very satisfactory experience. I will not return.
