Opened in 1955, the restaurant still keeps the atmosphere as it was then. This place takes you back to the Showa period as soon as you enter it. The food is nothing special but worth visiting for an experience. Note that smoking is allowed.
A Kissaten with unique atmosphere. Usually bit crowded and sometimes you might need to wait outside for a while. Price is affordable, and 生いちごジュース is my favorite.
An old school Japanese cafe in Showa era style. Note: Smoking allowed.
Small kissaten with decent coffee but not much atmosphere. After thoroughly enjoying my visit to Saboru about a month ago I had a chance to visit their sister shop, creatively named Saboru 2. After I ordered my blend coffee another customer came in and sat at the table next to mine. Her enormous plate of Napolitan pasta arrived before my coffee. The coffee was tasty and the service was fine but the atmosphere felt somewhat rundown and cluttered where Saboru manages to feel cozy and eclectic. Maybe it would help if the one time white walls were re-painted. When I asked I learned that this shop had been in operation for more than 30 years. It looked it. Not recommend. Go next door to Saboru instead.
