Crowne Plaza - Wycombe

Mohi was an excellent host and waiter, as were all of the staff. The view is always amazing, a hidden gem.

We had a set 3 course menu as part of a spa package. The spa break was a wedding gift from friends and so we were very much looking forward to a relaxing weekend. Given that I have a (relatively recently diagnosed dairy intolerance, I had looked online beforehand , as I do with most restaurants, to check the menu. In hindsight maybe I should have called ahead (hence the 2 rating and not the 1 my husband wanted me to give!! . We were asked when we arrived at the hotel (around 11am and booked the table whether there were any allergies. So the restaurant wasn't completely unaware. However, when we got to the restaurant, there did not appear to be much I could eat I placed an order, amending mashed potato for fries. Half an hour later, the staff came to tell me the chicken I had ordered was pre made and contained dairy. Was grilled chicken ok? Yes I replied. They also then told me my starter contained dairy. I then reluctantly accepted that the soup was my only starter option (luckily I am not a fussy eater! . By which point I had eaten my bread (not knowing I was having soup so asked for more. This took 3 asks to arrive (and my soup was already in front of me . The mains arrived, but no fries. We asked for them and were told the chef had forgotten. 10 minutes, 3 different staff members later, (none of whom seemed remotely interested and a plate of cold chicken and vegetables in front of me, My husband had nearly finished his meal. I had seen enough and left the restaurant. food was brought to our room but by that point the damper had been put on the evening. I should also point out that the couple at the next table also had a dietary requirement and also found the lack of knowledge/understanding from the staff to be worrying. Maybe some training on food allergies /intolerances would be useful? In fairness to the chef, kudos for flagging up that the neal was unsuitable for dairy intolerances. So someone is clearly on the ball! Some people have dietary issues which are beyond their control and would love nothing more than to come to a restaurant and pick just anything from the menu. To be made to feel such an inconvenience as I was is unacceptable. The table on the other side of us also left before their dessert as they had waited long enough. The hotel itself is very nice, we enjoyed our spa treatments and this just really let the side down.

We had a really great time at the Crowne Plaza Marlow. We did a spa day with 2 course lunch 25 minute treatment it was just what we needed to spend time together chilling out. The meal was great! Fresh tasty the hostess waiters were so polite helpful. We were served by Marshall who was absolutely lovely! Very affordable not busy so they must focus on not over booking the space as we had our own loungers by the pool for the whole time we were there which was perfect. Only additional touch which would be really nice would be perhaps a tea coffee vending machine nearby the spa so you can grab a hot drink without having to get changed before entering the main hotel. The treatments were really good only problem was I didn’t want it to end!

We had dinner and breakfast at the restaurant. The food was so much better than I expected (compared to the usual hotel food), steak was one of the best I’ve had. Food was fresh, hot and a good variety of choice. Breakfast was also freshly cooked, continually being refilled and we could also ask for options that weren’t already there. We would return for the food alone, however what impressed us the most were the staff. The customer attentiveness and service was nothing less than exceptional. Every staff member we spoke to took went above and beyond to ensure we were catered for and they all recognised us and took time add that personal value. Would absolutely recommend

Marshall has treated very well and Food was really awesome and had a wonderful time and stay with colleagues . Had a marvellous and great experience with the spa, swimming and message. Hopefully will come back next visit will be soon.
