Buku Vegan - Winter Garden

I don't have much experience with Haitian cuisine, but I have to say, the Jerk Mac and Cheese was outstanding. It was light yet full of flavor. They recently had a pop-up in Gainesville and I wish I had the chance to try more dishes. Their desserts were also delightful. I highly recommend the Turtle Brownie, which was a perfect 10 out of 10. The fact that the chef makes the caramel from scratch was impressive. If you happen to come across one of their pop-ups, do not hesitate to try their food.

I was highly impressed by the vegan Haitian Restaurant at Vegan Block Party! The food was incredibly tasty and the flavors were truly authentic. I began with the djon djon, mac and cheese, which was creamy and full of flavor, with just the perfect touch of spice. The griot was also exceptional, made with jackfruit that was tender and flavorful. I would absolutely recommend this restaurant to anyone in search of delicious vegan cuisine.

I was thrilled when Buku Vegan opened near my workplace, as I could easily get delicious peanut butter cookie cake slices in just 2 minutes. However, I was also worried about the temptation of indulging in them regularly. I couldn't resist and I have no regrets. The owner of Buku is incredibly friendly and puts a lot of love into her dishes. Every item on the menu is bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. It's clear that no ingredient is overlooked. Central Florida is fortunate to have such a talented chef in our midst.

The jackfruit sliders were sooo good. I don't normally like jackfruit because of the texture but this was spot on!

Buku is inside the cutest little shop selling kombucha and local art from the area. Jenny and her staff are amazing. The food always has a great presentation and multiple dessert options. I recommend it everyone! I’m here at least once a week.
