Vezi toate recenziile.
I had not been to this resto for a very long time. Since my last visit they have redecorated/renovated but maintained the same menu elements and the same fabulous service (though obviously different service.) The food quality and taste was great, not something you always see in a menu that does Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner. The standouts at our table were the mussels, tourtiere, Coq, Boef Bourguinon. Tacky I know but we all tasted everything! The burger was kind of out of place in this company. Décor is pleasant and rustic at the same time. There are two service areas. There is a view of the Human Rights Museum, Bridge, and River. Though that also means the evening sun shines into the room at times. Not a problem there were blinds, and the A/C kept it comfortable. A word or two on Price. The online menu is out of date, its about 10% low. The place is not cheap, but is on par with other restaurants I have reviewed in Winnipeg. For those looking for a different experience, they do a Prix Fixe menu on most nights for about 3/4's of what a meal off menu would cost. It is chefs choice and changes. House wine was very drinkable and priced in line. The Prix Fixe offers the option of Wine Pairings (recommended) for each dish at $18 per person total. But to end this review I go back to the service. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left (a long time later) the service was wonderful and friendly. Definitely going back!
This was our destination to celebrate our granddaughter's high school graduation. Her French immersion schooling steered us toward this lovely French cafe. The location provides a great view, and the atmosphere is very relaxed. We sat and talked for hours! We had a reservation for 1:30, but there were some empty tables and we could have just walked in. Service is excellent and unhurried. No one minded that we stayed for so long. The food is delicious, and there is plenty to choose from -- even for a vegetarian! I would go back any time!
Nice clean restaurant. Food was good but quite pricey - $90 for 3 (including tip and no alcohol but did have 2 desserts). If you want to Oder crepes get there before 11 as they do not serve them after that time much to my disappointment. Overall nice dining experience, would go back. Bathroom is so so and if you were in a wheelchair would be hard to navigate as they had chairs stacked up all along the access hallway.
We went first for coffee and then went back for lunch the next day. This popular restaurant loos unassuming from the outside but don't let that fool you. The cuisine and service are excellent. Try the boeuf bourguignon on the lunch menu. Tender beef on a bed of mashed potato and carrot wheels with gravy in its own small cast iron fry pan plus an elegant salad on the side. Delicious!
Very happy to have stopped here briefly for coffee and dessert! Clean, cozy bistro-style place with a great patio.
