Contribuiți la feedbackAs a preliminary, the food at Moro is beyond wonderful. I took my sister and her bridal party to Moro for a bachelorette dinner. I made reservations two weeks in advance and requested (and was promised) a special table to accompany our large party. Indeed, I called the week of the party to ensure that the restaurant was aware that it was a special occasion and to confirm the large table. Again, I spoke with the restaurant the night before the dinner to confirm the reservation. When we arrived, we were seated at a small table – not the table I was promised. No one even approached the table for ten minutes, at which time we had to ask for water. When our appetizers finally arrived, there wasn’t enough room at the table to set the plates down. One of the girls had to hold her appetizer plate (which we also had to request, since none were provided) as she ate. At that point, I went to speak with the manager, Corby, who assured me that he would try to accommodate us and take care of our appetizers. Fifteen minutes later, we were moved to a larger table (still not the table that had been promised) and waited an additional twenty minutes for dinner – which were served by a different waiter. The manager never came by to check on the accommodations or apologize for giving away our table, or for the poor service we had experienced thus far. When we received the bill (which was several hundred dollars), none of the appetizers had been “taken care of.” I spoke to the waiter and informed him that the manager offered to take care of the appetizers, at which point the waiter apologized and left to make the correction. The manager then came to our table and announced that he felt that he had accommodated us by moving us (mid-meal) to a larger table and that he would not be "taking care of” anything. He then chastised the entire table and accused us of berating him at HIS restaurant. He then left the original check on the table. The entire party then sat there for ten minutes waiting for the server – or anyone – to collect our payment. No one came. Rather than leave several hundred dollars in cash on the table, I gave my money to the bar tender and left the restaurant with a very bitter taste in my mouth. Although the food was fantastic, the service was so poor and unforgivable that I will never return.
This is a restaurant my husband and I go to for special occasions. It is on the pricier side but well worth it. Every time we go (so far, more than 8 times) the staff is genuinely courteous. The decor is beautiful – this restaurant is such an oasis and completely unexpected. The interior is dim with soft music in the background; one feels very cozy and quieted. There are semi partitions throughout the restaurant so even though you are not completely separated from other diners, it gives that affect. Everyone should make a point to dine here at least once. The service is on the slower side as this is not fast food. Everything is made to order but this wait gives you time to enjoy a drink and conversation with your mates – it is as though the restaurant wants to bring back the lost art of conversation. Typically, if there is an unreasonable delay in your service, you are treated to dessert by the waiter. The wait staff is very knowledgeable about the menu and is happy to assist you in making your dining decisions should you find yourself between two meals. The bar is located upstairs and the stairs are on the steep side so if you do drink, wear low shoes as the stairs can be difficult to navigate tipsy. This is an upscale restaurant but one that will not discriminate against the occasional jeans or hoodie. Moro is the kind of restaurant where the host will remember you and with a warm smile, greet you “welcome back.”
I had heard about Moro for a while and I wanted to check it out. We walked in and there was no one to seat us. We waited about 10 minutes for someone to come and seat us. While we were at the table we waiting about 15-20 minutes before our server knew that we were their table even though they passed by us several times. The food was good, but the cocktails weren't. They couldn't even make some of them because they ran out of vodka. I've never heard of a restaurant running out of such a common and popular liquor like vodka. It wasn't just a certain brand of vodka, it was any vodka. I wouldn't go back.
Excellent food service. A bit pricey but that's what I expect at a really fine food restsuranu.
Short staffed so extremely slow service. Food excellent. Took us over 2 hours to have dinner. Hopefully this was an exception.
