Best weekday sushi place. We've been here for years. Take away great for the weekday, or a short bite when shopping at the weekends. The best prices for good sushi can be found anywhere in the city. I didn't have a single article from this menu I didn't really enjoy. Definitely a place without ruffles, but you can really appreciate that if you see your bill. Portions are on the smaller side, so order more than you think you will be able to eat!
Best Japanese food (and affordable! . I cannot say enough here! The food, both sushi and kitchen items, is fantastic! I love to feel the mother and pop where your order at the counter and bus will be your own tables (and more often than not NHK will be on TV. Favourite kitchen article: Pigs Curry, tempura udon, yakisoba. Favorite Sushi Elements: Echigo Roll, Double Stamping Roll (or Lachs Double Stamp, Large Spinning Roll). There is also a small grocery store in the restaurant where you can also pick up dry goods.
Great food for low price, service very fast. We can see the kitchen from where you eat so you know it's clean. No great interior design, but I don't care. Great plus for fresh flowers on every table. Plus u can buy goodies from Japan (like dry seaweed) on a small stand here. Absolutely yes and full recommendation
Japanese owners, great price, fresh fish!. Great budget sushi! The owner, who also owned the former Sakura in downtown Burlington, which sadly closed after more than 20 years) keeps this going, and it is cafeteria style, not much for atmosphere or a fancy date, but great fresh Japanese food. The Okinawa roll with mango is great, and the spicy tuna roll has big chopped pieces, not ground inferior tuna with crunch to hide the taste which is what you get at other so called Japanese restaurants. Having a Japanese owner and some Japanese staff is rare. Still my favorite for sushi cravings on the run, although closed on Sunday. Brings me back to Japan every time, they even have Japanese television station on while you are dining.
