Shogun Japanese - Wilkes-Barre

I'm sad to be writing this review. Shogun used to be the only place in all of Wilkes Barre that had fresh and quality sushi. Over the last couple years they started becoming very popular, specially on sushi Sunday. They cannot handle the demand. Ordering is a 90+ minute wait, which is understandable and I order early. The main issue I'm stating here is that the sushi is warm when I get it and the ingredients are bitter/not fresh. Also after my 90 minute wait this past weekend, they had the audacity to call me 5 minutes after my estimated ready time and ask where I was. Guess I'll start making my own sushi.

The food and service was really great. Love the bento lunch. Excellent chicken katsu

First time visiting Shogun and I happened to stumble upon it on half price sushi Sunday. The wait was relatively short but it took forever to place an order. Our waitress seemed kind but scatterbrained and our small order took almost an hour to arrive. The sushi chefs were absolutely killing it though!The sushi was good, but not extraordinary. I would return, probably on a Sunday.Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian offerings

Stay away!I am traveling, I arrived around 7:45 PM and asked to be seated at the sushi bar. 15 min after having been seated and NO ONE gave me a menu or asked me what I needed. The place was half empty!!!!Plus, at the bar, the floor was shaking (No, haven't been drinking).... Something weird with the buildingSo I left and went to another sushi place (Mirakuya).

Food was and service was awesome. Nice selection on the menu.
