Dockside Willie's - Wiarton

Ordered Fish Chips, Bourbon Burger and Kid’s Chicken Fingers. The fish was disappointing and it didn’t even come with fresh cut fries. They were the cavendish fries from Costco and they weren’t even crispy. Worst burger my husband ever had and he had the lowest expectation of food. The only redeeming thing about the restaurant were the views and our nice server. It’s too bad because the location is great right by the water. This place has so much potential. The interior is super dated. Would not recommend this place as it is right now.

Time of visit 3:00ish. The place was not busy but had 6 employees working. There was only one other table of 2 besides our group of 3. The waitress placed the menus on the dirty table and walked away. I had to go ask for a cloth to clean up the liquid and crumbs from the last group. The food did come out fast.. nothing outside of the normal. Part way through my meal I went to us the washroom… there was an overflowing garbage, which I had started to pick up then thought there’s 6 people in a huddle at the til that are paid to look after this….and no toilet paper. I went out and told the staff that was standing around the til the condition of the washroom. At this time a third table was seated and eating. While we were still eating our bill was brought to us and the machine to pay. I said we still has a dessert coming. Our waitress, Lexi, said very rudely, “ yes you get one scoop of ice cream.” She stood there looking at me and I said, oh you want me to pay now before we finish?” As I was looking for my wallet she walked away. She came back and rudely put the dessert on the table and left again as I was holding my card to pay. We were now the only table left when a couple came, they asked for a window seat.. she stated that’s a table for 6. Wow…. No one else in there but my table which was getting ready to leave. She placed the couple in the darkest corner with no view. I went up to the till, Lexi, our rude waitress said, oh you’re ready to pay now. My family will not go back.

Great comfort food especially the wings which were huge, extraordinarily crispy and juicy. Service was outstanding and the outside patio looks into a large open field where kids can play. Varied selection of drinks too. Recommended.

Really disappointed in this $17.00 Montreal smoked meat sandwich from Dock Side Willie's , it was the size of a finger sandwich, and no mustard, just bread and meat. My wife ordered the club sandwich and it was no better. After spending over 50.00 we left hungry. There is better places in Wiarton to eat.

I hadn 't realized ownership had changed until I seen the menu. The menu appearance made me think that it would reflect the food, boring, unattractive, cheap looking. I was happily surprised.Very simple and basic. Food was decent, portions were ok. Snack size poutine was great but was astonished the size of the regular poutine was so small in comparison to the snack size. Fish was good. Service was good. Food was good. I was looking forward to the veggie grilled cheese they use to have. I probably won 't frequent the spot, it 's got everything all the other places have and nothing extra , nice location too.
