Contribuiți la feedbackAs a New Yorker who has spent many years in California, I've found it challenging to locate a decent Jewish deli in North Oxnard. Today, my friend and I visited Brent's in Westlake Village for lunch. I ordered a very lean corned beef sandwich on rye, and it was delicious. The restaurant had a vibrant atmosphere—lively but not too noisy, especially in the booth where we were seated. The service was excellent as well. I ended up taking half of my sandwich home to enjoy tomorrow, though I forgot to order fries for next time. The desserts displayed in the deli case looked particularly tempting, so I plan to grab a few on my next visit. Conveniently located next to the Hyatt Hotel, there’s plenty of parking available, and we were seated right away.
This restaurant was buzzing! We did have to wait a bit longer than I would have preferred before being acknowledged for seating, but after that, the service was exceptional. The menu is extensive – even the breakfast selection. We requested real cream for our coffee instead of the usual creamer, and they brought it out quickly, even offering two different types. I really enjoyed the food, the ambiance, and the fact that you usually have to be familiar with the area to find this place.
It's spacious and lively, the menu is extensive, and the sandwiches are enormous. Hidden away in a spot that's hard to find unless you're in the know, Brent's is a taste of New York located in Westlake Village, with its original location in Northridge. The pastrami sandwiches are fantastic, and the matzo ball soup is excellent, featuring a matzo ball almost the size of your head. Every dish I've tried has been generous, delicious, and served quickly. Overall, it's a fantastic place to dine.
I always make it a point to stop at Brent's Deli whenever I pass through Westlake. It's conveniently located right off the 101 freeway. The food is delicious, and the service is consistently excellent. They offer a fantastic selection of dishes to try and also have a bakery with treats to take home. Additionally, there's a bar area with seating if you want to enjoy some sports while you eat. I’ve never had a bad meal here, and the portions are generous, so I usually end up taking leftovers home. Give Brent's Deli a try; you won't be disappointed!
If you're looking for authentic Jewish food, this is the place to go. They not only serve amazing deli sandwiches and other classic items, but they also offer unique dishes that you won't find elsewhere. For example, try the Stuffed Kasha and Farfel, which features a savory filling of meat and grains, cooked like a sausage and served over sautéed and boiled pasta—something I've never encountered before. Don't miss the traditional Stuffed Cabbage in a sweet and sour sauce either; it's a delightful treat.
