We had gift certificates the the Eco Cafe and so we stopped by for a late lunch The place wasn't busy as it was after 3pm.
How can you not love the Eco Cafe? Nestled in The Village at Pigeon Lake, Eco is a true staple of the community.
We have been to a few of the Eco's theme dinners that start in the fall and run through the winter. It's a great way to try the food and flavors from other countries. Get some friends together pick with country you would like to experience and enjoy their 5 course dinner! I Just go onto the Eco website and watch for them to post the dinner events. Also, if you are a wine drinker, We have also enjoyed their wine nights. You get to try red and whites plus they pair food with the wines being served. It is fun and very informative!
I've been going to the Ecocafe since it opened. I realize I've eaten more there than at any other restaurant. The food has been consistently good with very few missteps. And sometimes it's been exceptional. But now I need to complain about the wine list in hopes that someone takes notice. They recently redid the menu and the wine list. The wines went from acceptable (when they had them in stock) to horrible. Pick the cheapest bulk wines and that would be the new wine list. Out of a dozen whites there are 5 pinot grigios and 3 chardonnays. All cheap junk. Over the years, I've given them wine suggestions (low cost - high value) and I know others have tried to help them as well. To no avail. I understand that not everyone cares or knows much about wine, but I do and this needs to be fixed. They aren't the only restaurant in the area any more.
