Contribuiți la feedbackWe ordered a half-sized Crunch Crunch, the lunch special C, an Aburi Tuna Stack, and a Spider Roll. The portions were generous and the ingredients were fresh. Out of all the dishes, I enjoyed the Spider Roll the most. They didn't use too much sauce, allowing you to truly taste the flavor of the soft shell crab.
West Vancouver is actually a gem when it comes to food finds. Tried out this japanese restaurant and enjoyed the salmon cake the most. Prices are pretty high for what you get but no complaints, it was all good sushi. Spicy salmon sashimi was really interesting with the daikon mixed in. Overall, like the black rice option (even if it was quite thick on there).
Ki Isu, a Japanese restaurant operated by Koreans, is known for being one of the more budget-friendly sushi spots in West Vancouver. They offer a wide variety of fusion items on their menu. Despite its small size, the restaurant had a lively atmosphere even as early as 5:30. By 6, there were customers waiting for seats and the waitstaff were bustling around at a fast pace.
After a disappointing experience at the Yaletown location, I decided to give this restaurant in West Vancouver a try. The atmosphere on a Sunday was relaxed, with jazz playing in the background. To experience the sushi at its best, sitting at the bar is a must. I opted for the chef's choice, 'omakase,' with a budget of $30. The chef surprised me with a unique and delicious meal not available on the menu. The first course was a tempura nori-wrapped rare tuna, followed by a traditional sunomono salad with wakame, cucumbers, Tako, Prawn, and fresh Dungeness Crab. The meal continued with a variety of nigiri, including seared Hamachi Belly, Albacore Toro, Shiso-wrapped Ika, and Dungeness Crab topped with Uni, Kaiware, and Tobiko. I was impressed by the chef's passion and training, and the fact that he threw in some complimentary nigiri to make the meal even more memorable. The chef is only available Friday to Monday, and the bar only seats 4 people, so reservations are recommended. In addition to the sushi offerings, the restaurant also has teriyaki, tempura, udon, and an abundance of sushi rolls with unique flair. The sashimi is fresh, gyoza are handmade, and the soup and sauces are made in-house. Overall, this restaurant offers high-quality food at a reasonable price, and I highly recommend giving it a try.
LOVE the chicken kaarage. Good fresh fish. My go-to sushi place in WV. Nice place overall. One of the waitresses is not so friendly but the food keeps us coming back. Real crab sunomono delish.
