Dragon Magic Noodle House - WEST MACKAY

We brought three dishes plum duck, wonton noodle soup and combination fried rice, the rice and soup had no flavour I think I eat some cooked cardboard. And the plum duck had flavour but had no meat but a lot of bones. The deep fried ice cream was a little different as well. They did give us a refund on the plum duck but nothing else as its a matter of opinion. However when they gave us the refund for the duck they also kept all the other dishes and threw them away in front of us so we couldn't even finish them if wanted to fill ourselves up.

Whilst I realise that Asian restaurants cater for the western palate in western countries there must always be the retention of at least some Asian authenticity.We had 6 dishes. Two of them came close to authentic Asian whilst the rest were simply recipes of Asian origin. For example, the Nasi Goreng was nothing more than a bowl of rice supercharged with soy sauce, a sliver of pork and little else. The special fried rice had more character.Come on guys, having a Chinese name doesn't make a Chinese or Asian restaurant ... you need to actually produce the goods.

We have five in the family and ordered pad thai and four other curry type dishes and some soup. We had soooooo much food! It is all made fresh in front of you and the flavor was different from dish to dish. Delicious! We will happily return if we pass this way agiain!

When we arrived just before 9pm, they looked as if they were getting ready to close but we got two tasty fresh meals.

Located next to the IGA on the corner of Nebo Road & Bridge Road, the Dragon Magic Noodle House offers a variety of delicious Noodle dishes, Rice and Wok tossed meals with a variety of tasty Asian meals with Pork, Chicken, beef and seafood. On our visit we ordered the Thai Green Curry Chicken and BBQ Pork Noodle. Very flavoursome and at the right price. Entrees start at $6, noodle soups and Laksa from $10.80 with other dishes between $9.80 to 16.80. Dragon Magic also offers combination/Family packs that serve 3-4 people. Oh...and they have sushi too !!They are open 7 days a week from 9am-9pm. The food was fresh, tasty and if we happen to be travelling through Mackay we will be sure to buy a Take-Away from them again.
