Had the short rib roast beef dinner see photo and steak and ale pie pie made fresh both meals were superb. Really good and attentive staff and have to admit better than the Stanley these days less expensive too m. Well done to the oak and good to have you back. Since the change in management, this charming neighborhood pub has been receiving the attention it truly deserves. The updated food menu is both delicious and reasonably priced, with the seasonal pumpkin soup being a personal favorite. The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive, showing genuine care towards all customers. I highly recommend revisiting this gem of a pub. Overall, I give the food, service, and atmosphere a perfect score of 5 out of 5.
The restaurant was extremely crowded and noisy. The food was overcooked but at least it was served hot. The gravy and roasted potatoes were tasty, but there was only one carrot and one parsnip served. Parking was difficult due to tight and inconsiderate parking by other patrons. The price per person was between £70-80. The food received a rating of 3 out of 5, the service a 4 out of 5, and the atmosphere a 1 out of 5. Recommended dishes included the gravy. Finding parking was somewhat difficult, but there were free parking options available.
The beer at this restaurant is pricey, costing £30-40 per person. The service was rated a 5, while the atmosphere was given a 3.
