The Grumpy Goat Tavern West Des Moines

For a bar and grill, the food and beverages were surprisingly excellent. It’s a typical sports bar atmosphere, but we stopped in for lunch and my husband ordered a Reuben sandwich while I tried the almond-crusted chicken strips. Both dishes were delicious, and the drinks we had were also quite good. Food: 5/5.

The pizza was disappointing, tasting as though it came straight from the frozen food aisle at the grocery store. The atmosphere inside was decent, but there were too many flies. Additionally, the credit card fee is frustrating; it feels like they're trying to deter customers. Overall, I would rate the food a 1 out of 5.

They offer breakfast every day until 2 PM, which was a nice surprise. Our server was friendly and attentive. The pancakes were light, fluffy, and delicious, served with a delightful cinnamon butter. Yum!

We really enjoy eating here when we are in town visiting. The menu has sooooo many good options. We love the environment with the indoor/ outdoor feel. The wait staff is friendly, attentive, and approachable. 10/10 Wish we had one in our town!Food: 5/5
