Taco John's - West Des Moines

Honestly, this is the only male-focused shop between here and possibly Merle Hay. It's great to support local businesses and give back to the community. The lines are usually short, the prices are fair, and there are excellent deals every day. I've been here so often that many of the staff have become like friends and family; they even know me by name! A real highlight, especially during the holiday season, is how they create a wonderfully festive atmosphere with Santa Claus and other holiday characters. Overall, it's one of the best spots to spend an evening if you're a family looking for activities for your kids. They even host a family night each week, packed with fun for everyone!

I recently started a new job at Regis Hair Salon and I've been really impressed with what Valley West has to offer. The atmosphere here is very positive, and there are plenty of excellent dining options, including Blaze Pizza, Jimmy John’s, Taco John’s, Chipotle, and more. I'm especially looking forward to the new Chalet restaurant and bar opening in November. I plan to explore the area further. I also came across a lovely kitchen shop, and there are great anchor stores like JCPenney, Younkers, and Von Maur. I have a feeling I’m going to really enjoy working at Valley West Mall!

Navigating the mall is easy, unlike Jordan Creek, which has complicated intersections with five or six lanes that can lead to traffic jams during busy times. The parking garage is a fantastic addition, especially in hot summers or cold winters, and no matter where you park, it's never a long walk to get inside. I remember feeling like it took forever to reach the entrance from where I parked at Jordan Creek last time. Valley West Mall has a lot to offer, and during my last visit, it was lively with shoppers—people were definitely making purchases!

Stopped in, shopped at bit, sat a bit and then went home. I love that they have comfortable places to sit and relax and people watch. And I always find things to buy at Pennys

The mall and the staff are really nice and friendly. The mall reminds me of back home Lakeline mall in Austin Texas or Barton creek mall just without the build a bear workshop or Apple Store
