Billy Vee's - West Des Moines

The food and service were outstanding! It had a warm, homemade vibe, and the flavors felt authentically crafted. I really enjoyed the ambiance; it made me feel right at home. Everything is made from scratch, which is a big plus. Today’s soup was split pea with ham, the perfect comfort food for a cold, snowy day. We also tried the pasta with homemade sausage, pizza, and a half-and-half Italian sausage and beef sandwich. Definitely spread the word—this is Des Moines' best hidden gem for Italian cuisine!

I absolutely love this restaurant! The food is amazing, and the service is top-notch. Deb and Tara are incredibly attentive and do an excellent job. I can't get enough of the Brie—it's the best appetizer I've ever had. It's so delicious that even my three picky kids enjoy it! My all-time favorite dish is the Parma Rossi Gnocchi, and I order it nearly every time I visit.

Just opened in Valley Junction, this restaurant offers a welcoming atmosphere that instantly reminded us of home, with cozy, partly divided spaces that feel like dining at a family member's house. The service was exceptional—truly the best we've experienced since arriving in Des Moines—and the food matched that high standard. The Chef even surprised us with some amazing bruschetta that wasn't on the menu, and we had the chance to try split pea and ham soup for the first time, which we absolutely loved! The owner took the time to chat with us after our meal and shared that the pictures on the wall feature her husband's family from Italy. We can't wait to visit for lunch again. This is definitely our favorite new Italian restaurant! Thank you for bringing your establishment from Panora so that everyone in Des Moines can enjoy it too!

Four of us had lunch at Billy Vee's today and we really enjoyed it. The special of the day was homemade lasagna, which was loaded with meat, cheese, and delicious flavor. The salad that came with it was impressive, featuring a mix of greens, slices of ripe red tomatoes, cucumbers, and carrots, served with a side of parmesan peppercorn dressing. One of our friends ordered pizza, while her husband opted for the Greek salad topped with blackened chicken; both were very satisfied with their meals. The dessert options sounded tempting, and we definitely plan to return.

A big thank you to Pam Chef for a wonderful dinner with friends last night! It was our first visit to their new location, and we all ordered different dishes, each of which was a hit: veal risotto, homemade lasagna, pork tenderloin special, and classic shrimp Alfredo. We can't wait to return!
