Pizza Express Farnham - Waverley

My experience at Pizza Express was disappointing. Initially, we chose a table near the open sliding doors, but it was inconvenient as people kept passing through and expecting us to move our chairs. After being told our table was booked, we relocated again. Our new server took our order for starters and drinks, and everything seemed to be going well until my wife's salad and my pizza were served. Unfortunately, my pizza was not what I had ordered, so I had to send it back. The replacement pizza also did not meet my expectations, as the server claimed the burnt ends were mixed into the BBQ sauce instead of being actual meat toppings. Despite the issues, I decided not to order another pizza and ate what was served, which was just okay. I spoke to the manager at the end of the meal to express my disappointment, and he apologized and removed the pizza from our bill. I believe Pizza Express should be ashamed of serving a subpar burnt ends pizza, and I do not plan on visiting any Pizza Express location in the future based on this experience.

Went out for a family meal. Pizza express usually can’t go wrong with a 5 year old. Service was shocking, waitress didn’t listen to anything we said, kids meal came out 10mins after ours, the presentation of salads was not the same of any other pizza express I have been to half the ingredients were missing. Couldn’t wait to get out of there. Definitely a place to avoid when visiting Farnham.

Have been using this restaurant since it opened in the 90’s. It has slowly been going down hill. We paid a visit this evening, Sunday 6th March at 18:10. On entering the restaurant a waitress walked past us and ignored us. A second waiter then came to the door and we were ignored again. After a wait of about three minutes the manager on duty approached us and asked if we had booked. On telling him no, he seemed put out that we had come in without booking. We were taken into the middle section and seated, leaving menus on the table. There was no communication from the manager who just walked off. After a wait of a couple of minutes a waitress appeared in our section walking past, I acknowledged her by saying hello to which she replied with a hello and proceeded to clear the unoccupied table behind us. There was no communication that she would take our order and walked off. The restaurant was not very busy with plenty of staff on duty who seemed to be wondering around in a day dream. After waiting 15 minutes and still being ignored we could see another table having to ask the manager to place their order. The manager seemed more occupied with dealing with the Deliveroo drivers waiting on collecting food rather than the customers dining in the restaurant. We are not normally precious about the service, however we were made to feel unwelcome and walked out of the restaurant after 20 minutes of being ignored. Poor service. Won’t be using this branch anymore.

On Saturday night 22nd January 2022 me and two friends decided to go out to eat at pizza express farnham, they had come down from london to visit me at university. We experienced blatant racism, we sat down at 7pm (we had a booking) and no one even asked us for our drinks until around 7:30 but in our section they had sat another couple (they were white) and they were already drinking their wine 5 mins after they sat down. The whole environment was hostile towards me and my friends it was extremely uncomfortable. We then asked to speak to the manager as by 8pm our food was still not here and everyone in our section was eating, he came and we expressed how we felt completely ignored and didn’t understand why our was taking so long. He agreed with us that because of the way we look we were getting horrible service (2 of us are black and one of us is mixed race) I genuinely couldn’t believe what he said, he then laughed at us as I asked him if we were all 100% white on this table would we still be getting the same service as we have received here today and he said no of course not! we asked him to cancel the order as the manager and staffs behaviour was so rude and racist. I’ve just moved to this town for university and it’s the only pizza express in town but I will never be going again, I feel so defeated and useless. I hope the manager of this place gets fired, because who knows what else other people have experienced or will In the future.

I have never been a fan of Pizza Express, as it has always seemed like a student hangout attempting to be superior to other pizza places. Unfortunately, my recent experience confirmed my suspicions. I visited on a Friday evening at 5pm expecting to see families, kids, and the usual mix of patrons. The service started off decently with drinks, but then there was a long wait for our food. One pizza even arrived with a huge hole in the middle, containing only a thin layer of filling. After pointing this out, the pizza was returned and recooked with added dough, which was hard and messy. To make matters worse, there were two blond hairs protruding from the pizza. The gluten-free pizza ordered by one of our party was also small and cold. Despite mentioning these issues to the manager, they seemed indifferent. The staff appeared unkempt, with long hair hanging over their faces, which was off-putting. The prices at Pizza Express are not cheap, and the quality of the food did not justify the cost. The service was lackluster, with staff more interested in chatting amongst themselves than attending to customers. Overall, my experience at Pizza Express was disappointing, and I would not recommend this establishment.
