Tacos El Norte - Waukegan

This restaurant is a favorite among both locals and visitors, and it's been a staple in Waukegan for quite some time. I stopped by for breakfast and was impressed by the wide variety of American and Mexican breakfast options, along with an array of other Mexican dishes that offered fantastic choices. Breakfast comes with chips and salsa, and you can choose between American-style toasted bread or tortillas, all served with generous portions of everything you order. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the coffee, which was a refreshing change from the usual watery brew found at many typical breakfast spots. In my opinion, any place with an open kitchen is a winner. They also have an extensive menu for lunch and dinner, with multiple locations throughout northern Illinois. Definitely worth a visit!

The food and service were fantastic, just like always. I'm really saddened to hear that after 27 years in this location, they are now closed for good.

As you would expect, this restaurant offers an authentic experience with a wide variety of delicious dishes. I would say it's the best kind of Texas cuisine south of the border. The staff is friendly, and the food is excellently prepared.

The waitress was very polite and helpful when my father tried to find out what to order. She was also very patient with us as we really couldn't decide what we wanted. The place was clean and quiet while we were there. Meals were delicious and I'll go back. Thank you.

Will come again soon!! The food was great and LITERALLY came within 5 minutes of ordering on a Saturday night. Our waitress, Leticia (sorry about the spelling), was AWESOME. She even thanked us for coming as we were leaving. We eat out pretty often and at many different places and we will be visiting, specifically this location, again very soon. We visited the Gurnee location a few weeks ago and had awful service. The prices are also great, $30 for our family of 4 and we all left full and happy!!
