Isla Del Mar #2 - Waukegan

This is an amazing restaurant. We found it by chance and were not disappointed. You have amazing service. The food is fresh, well made and presents amazing for a hole in the wall restaurant. The margaritas should die. The staff is friendly and welcoming. I recommend this place to anyone who likes seafood!

My wife and I were so impressed by the quality and care of this food. Every detail has been checked on our order so that our order was PERFECT. You can see through the pictures that they do not stingy at all with the spices. This restaurant will definitely get my word of mouth recommendation for all my friends. Our food was so good and not expensive. Of course, their seafood is a little more on the expensive side, I am sure as soon as I visit again I will try their actual brand food options.

I would like to have given this place a perfect 5 stars, but there are a few problems. 1. The seat arrangement is somewhat confusing. There are two entrances and everyone takes. It seems to be a popular restaurant as it seems to be. 2. I waited for my food for 45 minutes and the waitress never came by to see if I needed a refill. 3. It really gets hot! Other than that, the food is amazing! The Michaelada was delicious and the Ceviche and Tostadas give them instead of chips and diving is for to die! Be careful with the homemade sauce you see in the picture, it is hot with the ceviche, but really good with the shells. The food prices are a little on the high side, but definitely worth it! Best seafood place in the area safe! I think they're also on the higher side because of the portion size.
