Contribuiți la feedbackI took my girlfriend out to Sushi Groove on Thursday and had a great time. As soon as we walked in, the room was inviting and the decor was very… Groovey! The lighting was dimmed, but in a very cool way meshed with the tables, chairs, and boothes. The waitress was very nice, very relaxed. We ordered two beers, Kirin and Sapporo, the 22oz-ers which were a little pricey at $7 each, but still excellent beer. We ordered the Edamame as an appetizer which was very good, but served cold. Definitely would have been better warm, but still good. Service with the sushi was quick, and the sushi chef looked very experienced. The sushi was spectacular! Very fresh, very pleasing, and satisfying. I would definitely go back there. It is a little pricey depending on the rolls, which range from $5 to $15 or so. However, the spicy tuna roll was $5.95 and fantastic, so even though it was cheaper, definitely try it!
Love the atmosphere and decor. It’s definitely a hip place to hang out. Sushi is decent, serving is quite small though. They do have some Asian-inspired cocktails and they are quite good. Look for their happy hour special :
It’s hard to believe that this atmosphere is found in Walnut Creek! I’ve been there on weekend nights and there’s a DJ spinning while you eat and drink. There are a couple of tables with privacy curtains and there are several (more public) booths against the walls. It’s dark, like a city establishment. Oh, and it’s not for kids… They have the usual sushi items plus creative house specialties. I like the roll with shrimp tempura inside. Also, they have a lot of Asian-inspired cocktails.
