Contribuiți la feedbackThis concludes the tetralogy of reviews for the four Mexican restaurants in the small town of Wagoner OK. Intentionally excluded are the Authentic Cali style Mexican restaurants, Taco Bell and Taco Bueno. It is always fun to meet the owners of these small sole proprietor restaurants. In this case, Juan himself. Juan set up shop about five years ago in the failed Glen 's restaurant on highway 69. He has years of restaurant experience. He ain 't a big guy, but I 'm thinking he might be pretty ornery. He wears big gold coin necklace that intentionally catches your eye. My impression is that Juan runs a tight ship, watching every penny. He earned that gold necklace. There is a sign posted at every booth Read the Menu. My suggestion is that you read the damn menu! He explained that patrons come in, order a meal without understanding what is actually on the plate. When it is delivered they complain. I didn 't want sour cream or I didn 't want beans He then has to take the meal back the kitchen, trash it and fix a new plate, costing him money. With today 's cost of supplies for the restaurant it cuts into his slim profits. He has a valid point. Please read the damn menu!I have driven by Juan 's many times in the past five years. A portion of the old rusty, damaged Glen 's sign still exists. It catches your eye, then the empty parking lot confirms it is a defunct business. Unnoticed are Juan 's two small signs along the highway. I had the address and was watching for it today and I still passed it the first time. My wife spotted it and we circled back. This is a big building. Juan 's restaurant only occupies about half of the divided structure. The prices are fair. The service is adequate. I wish the food was better. Juan 's does have a 4.6 star Google rating with over 250 reviews. He has dedicated customers. My subjective assessment my be an anomaly. But it is what it is.The salsa is decent. The hot salsa is very good and served warm. My wife had the chimichanga with beans and rice. Fair. Although packed with chicken, it lacked seasoning. My chili verde tasted good but the beef was a disappointment. I expected savory chunks of beef that had simmered in the chili verde until tender. The chili verde gravy was good, but the beef was chopped, chewy steak, hastily cut up, then covered with the chili verde. It wasn 't great. Yes! We Read the damn menu! The chimichanga described spicy chicken! The chili verde did say chunks of beef! Not slices of chewy steak. And in conclusion....The restaurant is OK, but I will only eat here this Jaun time!Sent from iPhone
