Le Candiot - Vitré

We have always felt welcomed and happy here at Le Candiot. The owners are so friendly and the service is amazing. We have the rib dinner often but their daily specials are so good. This is one of our favorite patio dining spots in the warmer months but the atmosphere inside is equally cosy. I really can't see enough positive things about Le Candiot. Great food, great wine, really nice staff!

After getting lost we eventually found our way to Vitre and found this restaurant. We were blown away by the quality of the food as the lasagne I had was beautiful and the desert of caramel apple crumble was so good. Service was good too

When you are faced with a street of eateries it is often difficult to know which one to choose. In this case I let my 11 year old decide (look there's an empty table!) and I'm glad that I did. Nice simple menu but the food is cooked really well and is super tasty. I had a lasagne (for the first time in years) as I had seen one across on another table. I wasn't disappointed, it was absolutely delicious! The kids had Carbonara with a lovely fresh egg yolk on the top and my wife had a wonderful salad. All in with a bottle of cider and coffees came to 41 Euro. Nice to sit outdoor in the quiet street and relax.
