There are stoves, air fans, typing machines and old radios hanged from the ceiling, prompting the customers to believe they have stumbled upon an antique shop. The atmosphere is nonetheless, very welcoming, the waiters are attentive and dedicated to give the best customer service. The menu, which is presented in an amusing way, offers a variety of mouth-watering starters. I had quesadilla, a type of mexican sandwich, while my friends tried La Ciucucuri sandwich . Everything was top-notch. The plates were in fact quite consistent and I also had the best coffee I have ever had in Bucharest. It was followed by the most delicious cheesecake reinterpreted by the chef, for dessert. I would gladly have ordered a second course, but suddenly I remembered I was on a diet :D I highly recommend going to La Ciurucuri and try their menu.
We were so happy we discovered this place hidden in a closed street of Bucharest by chance we went back twice. First it was 5 stars, but then we were truly sad they hadn't any dessert both times. We've been there to restore us from the strong cold outside and ordered two hot chocolates we spent 17 Ron. First time they were very good, the second time they were a bit too liquid. Wifi was very fast and worked perfectly. The furniture and decorations were literally amazing, we took pictures all over the café (including the bathroom! and we kept looking around for long. Strongly recommended.
Really good traditional Romanian cuisine. I had the chicken livers and they were the perfect combo with the bacon bits and fried onions. Tasted very rustic. The place is behind a park and very private. There was also a very interesting music mix playing, sort of a collection of all the 90s techno dance highlights, but half a minute tops from each song
A beautiful and quiet place, right next to the park. The food is amazing with a lot of traditional Romanian dishes made right on the spot. The ambiance gives a glimpse of Romania's history and traditions. We had my girlfriend's bday party there and it was awesome! Dana, the manager, is amazing and very helpful along with the entire staff. Definitely a place to grab lunch or dinner when in Bucharest!
Such a funky restaurant near Cișmigiu Park. Its design is filled with comunism kitch. On the celling they hung day to day objects found back then in every household. Its a nice trip down memory lane for Romanian adults born before 1990. And the menu is also funky and with good food. If you come by car, you can find parking right in front of La Ciurucuri and after eating you can walk a little in Cișmigiu. The prices however are a bit high, but I recommend it for the experience. Also a good restaurant to impress foreigners.
