Cerase - VICO EQUENSE

We arrived in Vico Eqense by train, with rucksacks, and passed this restaurant. It was 12 noon, with few customers. We imagined it was a bit of a tourist trap but decided to treat ourselves anyway as the location is drop-dead gorgeous with 'window ' (aka al fresco) tables overooking the sea and coast towards Vesuvius. Our 'backpacking ' appearance did not faze them and we were able to choose a superb table. Pricing was noticeably expensive compared with Naples and the Quarteri Spagnoli but service was fine and the (shell)fish in paper dish was excellent. The lack of clientele perhaps spared us from service issues mentioned in other posts and really we had a most agreeable lunch.

We went to this place last week on our trip to Vico Equense. The view was very nice and all but it wasn't worth it. The staff was rude and disrespecting. They were raciest when they found out we were not Italians. The waiter kept ignoring my friend and whenever we called on him he would say one moment and then leave and have small talks with other people (Italians). When we went to the cashier to pay, we told him about this and he refused to speak English to us, pushed my friend and called us crazy! Very disrespectful and rude. If you are a tourist ignore this place!!!! Worst Italian experience.

Worst meal in Italy …. Worst meal maybe ever Upon entering an employee brought us back to the dining area. The server interrupted our walk back to ask if we had a reservation and got very rude, as if we had taken it upon ourselves to just walk back. He seated us and and obviously irritated from the beginning. The server was rude and inattentive the entire visit. My son was craving meat so ordered a steak. We should have sent it back, as he could barely cut it, much less eat it. The lady behind us ordered a steak and it was beautiful and she cut it with a butter knife. The food at the rest of the table was only ok. We had to ask for our check multiple times. This was our last evening in Italy so incredibly disappointing. Don’t waste your time or money here.

Spectacular terrace on the sea, with fish cuisine or excellent pizza. furnished with local goto. recommended for a lunch with a view. good mixed appetizer dish, not trivial. in general, non-banal dishes, although sometimes not particularly tasty.

Restaurant with fantastic sea view! delicious dish. Nice owner and nice waiter. price in the average food cooked well and fresh fish . sweets of the upper house! we will return
