Cafe Bar La Terrasse de Verchaix

A great restaurant in Verchaix, stunning views from the terrace of the valley and mountains. Due to COVID restrictions and our hosts’ relaxed style, we were the only guests (4 of us) of an evening in the peak of the summer season, but this felt very special and not at all weird! The food was absolutely delicious, the Rioja spot on and the service just right friendly and intimate without being too ‘in your face’! Good value too we thought. We will return!

We have been visiting La Terrasse for years and it always a treat delicious dishes, much of it home grown, in gorgeous surroundings and fantastic hosting by Phil and Louise. On our latest trip, they adjusted a few dishes to suit my intolerances (this is rare in my experience in France! and were so accommodating with our very active little boys. A hidden gem.

I had the 3 course deal and everything was very goodThe steak was cooked perfectly and the salad bar was better than i expexted it wpuld be.
