Contribuiți la feedbackWe discovered Zac Zac a few years ago, and we usually land here about once a week for the start. My vegetarian man always has the Spinat cheese curry while I usually have the Karaage or Katsu curry. The food is always hot and delicious.... Definitely worth a visit!
Excellent Japanese Curry Resto. Many choices, cheap prices and delicious food. Always busy with a young Asian crowd.
Fast, simple, cheap and good. Very tasteful and authentic, the place itself is full of very few tables, but the food is great to go.
Video review on my YouTube channel: Vancity Food Crew zac zac japanese Curry House . That was my first experience with Japanese curry. I had the combo with Katsu, shrimp and corokke. I didn't really dig the taste. It was good. If a friend or a friend's parents did something and offered it to me, I could eat it again, but I won't look for it alone because I didn't care.
To be perfectly honest, I didn't even want to dine here. It was our first night in the city, and we'd passed by so many great restaurants on our way to our hotel, but this came up high on my husband's recommended places. It was...raining and dark by the time we left our hotel room, so I think the fact that it was within easy walking distance was also a draw. Following the Google Maps directions, we ended up in front of an H Mart. That made me want to eat here even less. Not that I have anything against H Mart, but it's a chain one that we have in San Diego and as a rule, we try to steer clear of chains while traveling (because we like to experience local cuisine and such while we travel, as much as possible. Still, as I mentioned, it was raining and dark, and we'd had a long day of work and travel, so neither of us were really in the mood to pull out our phones to find another location that was open at that hour. I wish we had. The food wasn't terrible, but it also wasn't fantastic. It was hot and filling, and I think that's about all I can say for that. This restaurant is all the way in the back of their restaurant row, so you have to walk upstairs and past all the other food establishments to get there. The menu board was gigantic, for a quick serve curry house, and the counter top near the order window was minuscule. The girl working the counter was friendly, at least. The food (oyakudon for me, chicken katsu curry for him came out quickly, which is always a bonus. You order at the counter, then either find a table (ours was semi clean , or hang out to get your food to go. Water was free for customers, and served out of a pitcher that was located on the counter. You popped up to grab your food when it was ready, and you cleaned up after yourself when you were finished eating (you did if you had any manners, that is . Again, it wasn't a horrible dining experience just not what I was looking for on our first night in Vancouver. At least it wasn't very far from the hotel, and got us in and out relatively quickly and cheaply. Plus, we were able to stroll the aisles of H Mart before heading back out into the rain, so that was nice.
