Contribuiți la feedbackWe were sad to learn that the White Spot in West Georgia Street near Stanley Park had been demolished. The 2 other options downtown was this Dunsmuir one and the Drake/Granville one in Yaletown. The latter was a bit too far so we tried the Dunsmuir one. It does have a nice ambience and there are a few booths which we prefer. We dined twice, once for dinner and once for brunch. On both occasions the service was friendly and efficient. Mike in particular when he had the Nat's Hearty Breakfast , which was delicious, on our last day. I do wish the White Spot could have an all day breakfast or something similar. Sometimes it is nice to have light eating options.
I and my nieces went there on Sunday for breakfast and what I ordered was just eggs bacon and hashbrowns what a waste of money the hashbrowns were nothing like what they should be and the eggs were overdone ,ill never go back least to this location
Whenever one thinks of White Spot, their Legendary burgers and Triple O sauce immediately comes to mind. That’s understandable; after all, their burgers routinely make various “best of” lists in this Province. And it’s not all just hype – the burgers actually are very good. But then, White Spot is so much more. They have a contemporary and always evolving menu; their milkshakes are just as popular as their burgers; and, their fish chips are surprisingly tasty. In fact, I’d probably put the latter right up there with some of Greater Vancouver’s better known spots like Pajo’s, Fanny Bay Oyster Bar, and C-Lovers. Very rarely do you see anything significant written about White Spot’s fish chips – it’s all about the burgers. For that reason, I tend to view White Spot’s fish chips as woefully underrated, which is unfortunate because they’re of exceptional quality. I’ve had the pleasure of trying this dish at various White Spot restaurants across the Province and, much like their service and warm atmosphere, it’s remained wonderfully consistent straight across the board: The fish – be it cod or the seasonal halibut – is always flaky and tender; the batter is always crisp and in proportion to the fish; and the accompanying hand-cut fries are just the right serving amount. When we attended the White Spot on Dunsmuir, this experience was mirrored to a tee. FOOD: 5/5 SERVICE: 4/5 VALUE: 5/5 RECOMMENDATION: In these times of surging pandemic, the familiar can be comforting. In that regard, White Spot certainly fits the bill. A BC institution since 1928, they’ve played host to many of our family memories while concomitantly delivering exceptional food and great value. Highly recommended! I go in by myself and ask if I can sit at the bar, but I'm told they aren't sitting people at the bar right now and I need to wait 15 minutes for a table. That's fine, but as time goes by I see people coming in after me and getting placed at the bar with no reservations. 20 minutes later I check to see where I am on the waitlist, and it turns out I wasn't even placed on the list. I left feeling frustrated, like I was given the run around. Never going to any White Spot again.
It was great to find that White Spots had opened again for dine-in service after relaxation of the covid restrictions as they are universally good quality and reasonably priced. We had not been to the Dunsmuir restaurant before. It is in a good position near QE Theatre and the library. The staff were very welcoming, pleasant and professional and everything was well organised and adapted for safe distancing and spotless cleanliness. We always go for the legendary burger with limitless fries and these were excellent and prepared quickly. The meal was delicious and service was good. Another very good White Spot to add to our list of restaurants to return to in the future!
