Contribuiți la feedbackHad lunch here- Visit to the Tropika is a must whenever I visit Vancouver. Food is excellent. Favorite is the crab with sambal.
Enjoyable dinner. Never seems to disappoint. My only regret is that we were not able to try more dishes, as there were only the two of us.
This restaurant was so great! The menu seemed like it was never-ending. We got the deep fried eggs because we were curious and they were SO GOOD!!!! There were so many things to choose from, but I ended up getting the prawn hot pot and my partner got the pad thai. The pad thai had a sauce that reminded me of Philippine banana ketchup, a little different from the pad thai we were used to but good nonetheless! The hot pot was delicious, with lots of vegetables a definite bonus. They had bitter gourd which I have not had since my time travelling in Nepal, and I was so happy to see it floating among so many other delicious vegetables (including eggplant) in my dish. The pineapple fried rice was served in a pineapple - we did not get it but were very tempted! Service was some of the best I've ever experienced in a restaurant; our finished plates stayed on the table for less than 15 seconds and our water glasses were never more than half empty. Our server recommended beer for us and we greatly enjoyed it. Really really fantastic service here and so many choices you won't be disappointed! I'm not sure why the reviews are so low, because we were so thankful we tried this place.
Having dinner at Tropika on Cambie was an enjoyable experience. Our meals were exceptionally good. The staff was attentive and courteous. Aromas which reached our table were savoured while waiting for our dinner to be served. The restaurant is attractively decorated. Its walls are painted dusky coral with accents in shades of dark brown and medium bright lighting casts a pleasant glow on everything. The menu features many exotic Asian dishes. I ordered Spicy Spinach with Salted Shrimp and requested that it be prepared mildly spicy. The mix of flavours and spices in my dinner was perfect. The dish was served in a light sauce and the shrimp were the smallest I have ever seen. The portion was generous. My brother ordered a combination seafood dinner. It was visually appealing and he said it was delicious.
We went on a rainy sunday night. we had some different dishes than we usually get. the Tahu masak bali (tofu with sambal) was OK. the sambal was quite kicky and tasty. we then had the thai style chicken bbq with rice and this was a huge portion but quite tasty. the beef red curry (kari lembu) was excellent paired with the coconut rice. it was quite good. service was good and attentive.
