Sweet and Savoury Pie Company

My friend and I ordered a slice of the tartan, strawberry rhubarb, blueberry and a chicken pot pie.

Brand new business that opened that looks restaurant style that sells a good assortment of sweet and savory pies.

First of all, the woman who owns and runs this place is lovely. She is a Good Cook, she is friendly, her place is clean, tidy, bright and welcoming. And the food? Ah, pies. Pies are a delicate matter, a balance of crust and filling, flavour and substance. We only had dessert here, but she's got it right. Not huge, thick crusts like some other pie places do, but a light, thin crust, delicious and delicate. The Raspberry Mousse Pie was as light as a feather, the Pecan Pie was everything a pecan pie should be - cream, nutty, sweet but not too sweet. The Chocolate Cream was chocolatey and creamy and perfect in sweetness. Go! East Hastings is more and more a great place to be. Must go back to try the savoury pies. She has a kind of eggplant parmesan one that looked divine.
