Small Victory Bakery - Vancouver

For the Croissant Challenge, SVB presents a Freshly Milled Buckwheat Croissant paired with Valrhona Dark Chocolate Bannetons. It's truly delicious! The buckwheat imparted an earthy flavor, while the croissant remained buttery and rich. The dark chocolate provided an intense flavor that really elevated the experience—definitely a must-try! Of course, we couldn't resist sampling a few other items as well. The Lemon Cranberry Scone could easily win a hypothetical scone competition—it's not too sweet and just crumbly enough. We also tried an apple tart, which was delightful. Having dessert for breakfast is never a bad idea, especially since the pastry was packed with fruit. We wholeheartedly recommend it! To top it all off, we enjoyed a solid Americano to complete our delicious breakfast. SVB has a wide range of options that extend beyond just what's in the pastry case. If it were closer to home, I suspect we might quickly add a few pounds! Once they open their dining area, it will be a fantastic spot to relax with a treat and a coffee.

This location is quite busy, but both times I visited, we managed to find a table after navigating some temporary seating on benches and random chairs. The high ceilings make it feel less cramped, creating a great upbeat atmosphere. The almond croissant was delicious and crispy, though it was a bit greasier than others I've tried—with what seemed like almond butter in the middle, leaving my fingers oily. The coffee was good, so I’ll definitely be coming back regularly. I did find the prices to be on the higher side, but that's typical for Vancouver. On both of my visits, the separate coffee bar was a bit confusing; I wasn't sure when or where to pick up my drink, and I often felt like my order might have been overlooked.

Review for Granville St.: This beautiful bakery offers excellent coffee and a small menu with beautifully presented dishes. The staff is friendly, and the service is quick. Since it's conveniently located near my home, I will definitely be stopping by regularly.

This place is definitely worth a visit if you're a fan of coffee and espresso. They take their coffee seriously and provide three different types of beans. You'll find a nice selection of quality brands as well. ... And yes, their bakery offerings are excellent too!
