Contribuiți la feedbackAs I age, my body is starting to give me more signs to slow down and take it easy. Hangovers are getting worse and lasting longer, and I've had my fair share of aches and injuries. Despite my go big or go home mentality, I've had to deal with a partial achilles tendon rupture and a wrist injury that has kept me out of the game for over 3 months now. Weight lifting has become a major stress reliever for me, allowing me to indulge in my favorite foods and drinks without turning into Jabba the Hutt. After sulking for a while, I finally decided to seek help for my wrist injury and headed to physiotherapy. On my way home, I passed by Healthy Noodle House on 4th ave, a place I had always been curious about. With my newfound need for healthier options, I decided to give it a try for lunch.
However, I found that all the soups on the menu tasted the same because they were made with the same stock. It would have been nice to have more variety in flavors. My friend ordered the chicken dumpling soup, and I ordered the BBQ pork, but they both tasted identical. The service was friendly, and I learned from Colin, the owner (who seemed to be the only person working there), that he has been running the shop for 12 years. I liked the homely kitchen set-up, nothing too fancy. In the end, we also bought a pack of their frozen wontons to take home and try out. A tip for visitors - when we visited, the restaurant only accepted cash, so be prepared for that.
This is the best noodles and soup I have ever had! It is so delicious! Sometimes I find myself craving this soup and my mouth starts to water. I would choose this as my last meal on Earth.
Healthy, Affordable, and Delicious Noodle Soup. Not sure when this place opened, but concept is the same as all the 'make-your-own-noodle ' restaurants that have been popping up all over Richmond lately, right down to the ordering method where you check off the the ingredients you 'd like in your noodle soup on a menu form. This is perfect for health-conscious diners. The meal is cooked right in front of you (open kitchen) on a house stove. No MSG, no unnecessary oils, simple, homemade, and hearty. Storefront and decor is not impressive, but the food is affordable, filling, and healthy. I came here on a Saturday night and I was the only customer at the time. I hope they 're busier on the reg, because this place deserves a lot more attention!
Noodles to warm your heart. Do yourself a favor and skip the lineups at Naam. While I like Naam, this little noodle house also deserves a tasting. Behind the counter awaits a jolly ol' Chinese man who is as passionate about his healthy home cooked noodles as he is serving it to you. <br/ <br/ A wide selection of noodles are available, including a wide assortment of veggies and sauce you get to mix and match; all of which are prepared fresh and daily, to suit exactly your taste. If you want some meat, they have various accompaniments of home prepared won tons; none of the mass commercial stuff you buy at supermarkets. <br/ <br/ In taste, presentation and style, there is no doubt about it that it is quite simple. Yet it is also elegant and beautiful in a zen-like way...just exactly what the heart and soul needs on a rainy Vancouver day. I'll definitely be back at this little gem of a place.
