Nammos Estiatorio - Vancouver

Went with a friend after helping him move, had the souvlaki, Kalamari and a beet dish.Great taste and presentation, they offer the best beer in Greece( Hellas Fix) and my Asian friend with the glass stomach stated it was the best Greek food he had ever had( I thought it was as good as my last trip to Greece) .Opa!

The food was ok and served family style where you order several dishes and they come out as they are ready. We just picked several different items from the menu and shared them between the group. I have no serious complaints but found the food to be good but with nothing really standing out.

There was nothing about our meal here that was bad. Everything was fine - the service was fine, the flavours were fine - but the dishes were standard. I've had better of each of the items we ordered. Again, not that there was anything wrong with them... they just weren't extraordinary. They really should consider making their own pitas, which would elevate the experience.

My son bought dinner for me on Father's day. Place was full and line-up, but our reservation was waiting. Service was good, food was good, nothing spectacular, but I'm wondering what these negative reviews were expecting for 15.00 entres. Every other table was a Greek family, and that's a good indicator. Could use a better wine list, but several Greek selections. Didn't have dessert but choices looked nice. Very fresh salads.

I've never written a review before but i felt i should in this case - went to Nammos last night and we ordered a bunch of stuff -- Amongst everything, I ordered the Sablefish (blackcod) and i knew right away that it wasn't sablefish. I asked the waiter about it and after he went back to the kitchen he admitted that they substituted it with Halibut without asking me (the halibut was dry overcooked and I would have returned it anyways). There was no real apology for it -- they took if off the bill and just kind of shrugged it off. To boot, they tried to charge us twice for the octopus which was dry overcooked rubbery and expensive as well. Being ethnically Greek, i thought their cuisine wasn't great and especially for the price... Bad Ethics, Bad Food - Not going back ...
