Contribuiți la feedbackSo my daughter (18) husband and I visited this restaurant whilst on hoilday. I had vegetarian taster whilst they had meat/fish taster. It says 5 courses in actual fact we had 9 as there are little surprises along the way. Our waiter was exceptional and his attention to detail was top notch. From the minute our first mouthful of food touched our palette we were all in love. it was the best meal we have ever eaten. To have a taster like this in England would be double the price. I am angered by the low graded reviews and baffled as to why it's not number 1 (probably to do with being a newish restaurant with only 93 reviews compared with thousands of reviews) every course was intriguing packed full of flavours and substance. We have two days left in Vancouver and going to cancel our other restaurant to come again. THANK YOU for giving us an experience we will never forget. X
We were a party of 10, and all of us had either the vegetarian or seafood tasting menus. Mission makes their own ginger beer, so I highly recommend the Moscow Mule (2 in our party had just the ginger beer). Portions are just the right size, and staged nicely. Many of the ingredients were unfamiliar, and it would have been good to have more detailed explanation of what we were eating. For example, I'm still not sure what lovage is. A few of us had a strange sensation after eating a course, and were told it was possibly the nettles (and that many of the greens were foraged). Overall a great experience and am glad to have done. The chefs are definitely very artistic and have a unique vision. I lowered my rating after reading some of the rather snarky responses to reviews, especially when taking patrons 'to task' in lengthy responses for undervaluing or misperceptions.
Mission was a perfect choice to celebrate our Daughters Birthday. Honestly, we chose the restaurant from watching chef Curtis on Top Chef (he was our favourite!)The atmosphere is very welcoming. Love the lighting and the art work in the walls. Our dinner, from the new menu, was amazing! Two of our favorites included the maple smoked pork jowl and the whole roasted duck. The “Plates” are served family style. We ordered the bread, the Duck which is considered a large plate and three other plates from the menu. Before the second duck course came out we were worried that we’d still be hungry so we ordered more bread, but it turned out to be just the right amount. But then we also choose three desserts to share ;)They have an extensive wine list and a fresh cocktail list. All very impressive. One of the members of our group asked for a non-alcohol cocktail Marc, who served our table, created a special cocktail especially for her based on her own special tastes. He was an amazing host and overall made the night very special! All five of us in a group were thoroughly impressed with our experience. Thank You for a GREAT night.
Was our first time visiting this restaurant on the recommendation of another friend, and although the food was well presented and flavorful, the service and timing of the food were less than desirable. To our surprise, we were the only diners in the restaurant and the service and getting our actual meals still remained slow. The cost of the meal was very expensive as well, and not worth the value.
For Farm to Table, this is nonpareil. We visited the others in Vancouver, but over two years and two visits, Mission Kitsilano still ranks
