Meat Bread - Vancouver

Great food, fresh and tasty, prompt service. A bit pricey but you pay for quality (i.e., $8-10/sandwich). This is one of the few places I'll eat chicken in Vancouver as they use Rossdown organic chicken and turkey. And even their veggie selections are delicious. Very attentive to my sesame allergy as well. It's a small place so seating is very limited, and there are typically long line-ups so get there before noon.

We stopped in for lunch after checking into the Marriott nearby. Limited menu, but the sandwiches were very tasty. We took our food outside to enjoy in the adjacent park area to enjoy the sunshine.

Top quality, really great taste sandwiches. Simple and straight-forward ordering. In and served straight away no waiting around. Straight to the point, ideal lunch spot.

We landed in Vancouver, jet lagged from London, and headed straight for this place due to the great reviews. And it was so so worth it. I got the buttermilk chicken and my boyfriend got the porchetta with crackling. They were just incredible, melt in the mouth, tender meat and so flavoursome. One of the best sandwiches we've ever eaten and we do trawl the globe for a good sandwich. Service was friendly too. Only reason it's not got full marks is it was a tad expensive but we are finding that is just Vancouver, really! Just go and enjoy and go back again...

Just go! Ok, now for the rest. I don't eat sandwiches a lot. But when traveling I like to hit different places. Meat and Bread was a recommendation from Brad, who checked us in at the Delta Hotel. So we walked 5 blocks in the rain and I got the best pork sandwich I can remember having. It was so simple, too. Amazing bread. Perfect-tasting pork. Chili verde spread. Nothing else! So simple and just so good. It's a $10 sandwich. (Fellow Americans, that's $10 CDN... which is what, a buck fifty? Kidding.) But beware - it's only open from 11-4 only and we left at 2 and they'd just sold out of the special.
