Contribuiți la feedbackDo not order the udon noodles at this restaurant as they are not authentic and have broccoli and carrots in them. It was disappointing to see Campbell's minestrone soup on the menu. Overall, I would recommend trying something else.
The restaurant's current menu is not up to date. When I called to place an order according to their online menu, I was surprised to find that the final bill was higher than I had anticipated.
We live in the OV area, just a few minutes walk from the restaurant Manna Sushi. Every time we crave Japanese cuisine, we choose from various restaurants.
Japanese restaurant run by Koreans, I was told. Busy at lunch time on a weekday and service was a bit slow. The biggest beef I have about Korean restaurants in general is the utensils they use. Flimsy chopsticks, stainless steel rice bowls or bowls that are too small suitable for kids under 5 years old. No proper soup spoons or ladle offered to9 scoop out soup from a big bowl of soup or noodles. Anyway, back to the food... Spicy tofu soup $18. Very tasty and spicy. I like it! 8/10 Hot stone bowl Bibimbap $20 $4 for extra beef. Over priced but tastes decent. 7/10 Spider rolls $12. Good but a bit flaky, not rolled tightly enough. 7/10 Tempura Udon $14. I like udon, but soup does not have much taste and the 2 Tempura shrimps were skinny and Fried in old oil. 6/10 Aburi Nigin combo B $26. 6/10 definitely not as good as the other Japanese restaurant I visited a few days ago. Total costs $96.60 before tips for 4 people.
The worst service from the mean belligerent racist Korean server tonight. The food would have been great. ut the server had no business serving. I came in to get a table for 8 people with my husband previously who previously called to reserve a table for 8. She told him he could only reserve if he gave an 18% tip. That annoyed my husband who said what if didn 't want to tip 18% , that because she sounded rude on the phone. We decided to still go there instead of reserve and got a table for 8. I was with my 2 kids and my husband had to pick up 4 of our guests who would join us. The waitress confronted me and asked if I was the one who called. I said it was my husband, and she said your husband doesn 't want to pay the 18% tip and we only reserve if you will pay the 18% tip. I said he didn 't reserve at all and we decided to come straight and I don 't mind paying the 18% tip. She was being nasty at that time, cold and arrogant and I had to lead myself and my kids to the table. We ordered ahead of our guests but when they hadn 't arrived 20 minutes after, she confronted us at the table and asked if the others are coming because she they they could not hold the table for them. At that time, I had to join 4 tables for 2 together and fix the tables ourselves because she just dumped the plates and utensils. That made me question why I even had to give the 18% tip she demanded. The restaurant had many empty tables at that time (6:30 pm) and was hardly full. She said you cannot stay long here and we have to charge you extra, we can 't keep waiting for your guests to arrive. She said exaggeratingly that they could not have us there for 3 or 5 hours. Then we argued because I said what made her think and assume we would stay for 3 hrs. She said because they weren 't there yet. So I said why are you arguing with me that way when I am your customer and we are bring business to you with 8 people. She continued arguing that I wanted to leave but my kids and I had already been eating by that time. Good thing the other friendlier waitress came but she herself argued, albeit in a calmer way, when I mentioned how unreasonable her colleague was. She even said that in Vancouver the wait would only be 90 minutes for a table. So I said, how sure was she that they would wait 90 minutes, they were assuming and insisting on their right which was absurb for them as servers. I just sent the menu to our guests who were on the way so we could order in advance and in 10 minutes our guests arrived. The total wait was about 40 minutes from the time we entered and the time we were all complete and I decided to dutifully, though unhappily, pay the 18% tip with a big bill for a party of 8. The food was good byt that server should be fired! She is not Japanese because Japanese people are normally polite and kind. I am not judging Koreans but this server had a terrible attitude not common to Japanese. I am saying this because I too am Asian and it is typical for some unschooled Asians to look down racially and put down other Asians. It was an Asian discriminating on other Asians. I hope the owners look into this. My husband wanted to go back and give her a piece of his mind.
