Contribuiți la feedbackHad lunch/dinner several times there and each time food was delicious. They have the best jjigae ( tofu, kimchi, soy paste) also great squid salad. I love the ajhummas who serve, very genuine. Busy at rush hours which speak for itself. Highly recommended!
I ate here recently and was blown away by the food. I've had Korean food before but this was probably the best that I have had yet. This place looks kind of run down on the outside but is very nice on the inside. The food was equally great with meat and soup combos that you can customize. The soup was served piping hot and even though there was a lot of tofu in it it was delicious.
I've been here a couple times but just went yesterday and was reminded of amazing it is! Most of the waitresses are Korean, so the menu has pictures you can point to as well as on the wall so that is super helpful. Truly authentic with the snacks beforehand kimchi, potato, seaweed and radish. Can get refills on these snacks too. My tip is to park across the street or underground, we went 8pm yesterday and had to drive around to park near the liquor store at best Western and cross the street. Must try their tofu soup!!!!! I had the bulgogi combo with beef and soup. For the soup I chose mild and seafood. It was abundant in fresh shrimp, albeit not super jumbo size but definitely fresh and with soft tofu in it. It also came with rice!! Such a good deal for all that food $16.99 for the combo. Forgot to mention they also give you a raw egg to put into the soup too!!! I didn't Crack my egg and let it cook so the middle was still a little raw, but so tasty! My bf got the stone rice bowl and it was equally. Amazing. Seriously worth it!! The staff is also super friendly, though we had to wait a little bit because it is a popular place.
This was our place for lunch the last day of a mini-trip and stay in the neighbourhood recently. A restaurant we've often wanted to try, and finally, had the opportunity to do so. We checked out of our hotel, met up with daughter (our 'limo' driver to get home!!), and just walked across the street. It opens at 11am, and we were there just a few minutes after. If we had any concerns about our choice of restaurant, they were quickly dismissed and forgotten once we walked through the door. Wow, this place is sure larger than it looks from outside -- and with a welcome greeting, so many warm smiles aimed our way, and a setting that just said "this is our kind of place", although set for a new dining experience, we already 'felt' at home!! We studied the menu, and while doing so, a nice 'plus' was viewing the large, poster-size pictures of the various menu items that decorate the walls, they were a big help to newcomers like us. With some final assistance from our server, here's what we ordered and shared (as a threesome): - seafood tofu soup w/rice (we chose 'regular' spicy for the soup) -- the soup came to the table in it's hot pot, very hot & bubbling, and the rice much the same, in a stone bowl, within a wooden container -- we added and stirred the raw egg into the soup -- the stock had a strong "fish taste" (which we liked), lots of tofu, and a few whole shrimp -- very tasty, and for us, just enough 'spicy heat' -- and the rice was delicious. - man-deuk-ee (fried dumplings + rice cake) -- very tasty!! But a small 'blip' in the ordering, we thought we had just ordered the rice cake (as an appetizer), and hadn't realized there were dumplings with it. It was certainly no big deal though .. the two went well together!! - goon man doo (fried dumplings) -- the dumplings on their own, and they came to us piping hot and tasty!! - japchae (stir fried noodles, with veggies, and we chose pork for the meat) - served up in a tasty stock, and we left nothing on the plate. .... all of the above came with several side-dishes (kimchi, seaweed, mashed potato, pickles, a sweet sauce, and raw egg). It made for an impressive display on our table, and was such a delight and fun to sample!! We so enjoyed our first dining experience at the House of Tofu Soup ... good, well-prepared food, and service to match. Looking forward to a repeat!!!
Servers there sometimes have a hard time listening to what I ordered. I always need to confirm with them if they heard me correctly. And many times, their tone were pretty harsh. Server are not attentive at all. They would rather talking at the back, instead of checking customers to see if they need anything, Many times you need to go up front to them if you need anything from them.Soup there is nice. Very good value. Around 10 bucks and you get rice, soup, side dishes...etc
