Contribuiți la feedbackI told my BF I have never had brunch in Vancouver so he took me here by surprise. I didn 't know what to expect and came out extremely satisfied. <br/ <br/ As you walk into this small cafe, there 's a sign that says 'please seat yourself. ' As soon as we were sat, a very nice waitress (the only one running the floor) came and welcomed us. <br/ <br/ I ordered the mushroom and bacon Benny and was very happy with it! The bacon was fresh and the egg was poached perfectly medium. It wasn 't doused in hollandaise sauce but had the perfect amount. They also have a great coffee! My BF has a the traditional breakfast with waffles and he said the waffles were a bit dry. I didn 't personally try them but they did look good. <br/ <br/ Overall, I really liked this place! (Street Parking in the area is expensive, approx $0.25 for 6-7 mins).
I moved away from Vancouver a few years ago, an was delighted to see Cafe Zen is still here. The food is simple and delish, service is great. Don't change a thing!
Went here on a weekday brunch when i don't have any classes, and my friend decided to go for a brunch, so went there, and sat down, not much people because we came late like around 1ish, but i have seen this place super packed at some other times.<br/ <br/ I'm not a big brunch person because most of the brunch menu are quite similar just slightly different in terms of taste, and for taste it's also just a bit. So it comes down if the food is okay or not.<br/ <br/ Ordered a few items, Overall I'll say the food is relatively good, I still don't get for my friends who is really up for brunch, but again everyone have different preference as I've mine as well. but the potatoes, egg bennie, and bread was good. the ham was a nice touch too.<br/ <br/ overall I'll say that I do like it in terms of taste, but for price wise hmmm it's about right i'll say for brunch, and that's the reason i also don't like brunch. <br/ <br/ would i recommend the place? yes for early morning breakfast/brunch<br/ would I come back? no, I'm not a brunch person unless someone drags me there.
California Club Sandwich ($14.25): Rating: 4/5 This sandwich featured grilled chicken breast, cheese, tomato, lettuce, and a choice of avocado or bacon (I opted for bacon), all layered between perfectly toasted bread. The generous filling was flavorful, but the real highlight was the delicious fries served alongside. Chorizo Bennie ($12.49): Rating: 3.5/5 This dish included large chunks of chorizo on a toasted English muffin with poached eggs and hollandaise, served with hash browns. While the chorizo was juicy and flavorful, the hollandaise was a bit bland for my taste. The English muffin was a bit tough to cut through, but the crispy and seasoned hash browns made up for it. Overall Ratings: Food: 4/5 Price: 4/5 Service: 3.5/5 Overall Experience: 4/5 Recommendation: Try the California Club Sandwich.
Cafe Zen is a quaint brunch spot that may be easy to overlook due to its small size. The menu features a variety of options, and they even allow you to sample two different choices if you're having trouble deciding. The omelettes were okay, but nothing extraordinary. In general, it offers typical brunch fare at reasonable prices. It's a good option for a quick breakfast or brunch stop.
