Contribuiți la feedbackAre there recently. The waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu and what can and cannot be done/adjusted. In addition he made sure that the kitchen was aware of no cross contact. I ordered sandwich au porc which was Lovely. That being said my tummy did feel a bit funny and I am not sure but I think the marinade in which the pork was done in might have something in it.
Longer wait times but worth the wait. Excellent food, staff understood gluten needs, lots of options. GF bread was actually good! Strongly recommend to any celiac looking higher quality food.
If you wish to experience downtown vibe, Cafe Medina will be the place!! Busy busy, yet everyone is super friendly and still keep a smile on their faces! Even the patrons are friendly too, we chatted with a family in their cozy waiting area and in no time, our tables are ready! Food is homey and no non-sense, portions are generous ... oh do get their Waffle!! Very tasty with rich eggs milk flavours!! I personally love the waffle with their Passion Fruit Cream! Kudos to Sera for a very pleasant experience even though this place is super packed! Parking ... remember the is downtown!!
POV: it's a rainy, windy, cold Saturday morning in Vancouver and you've been walking 4 minutes to reach your destination... Medina cafe! I was astonished to see the crowd and the bar completely full, I had to wait 20 30min as a party of 1. But I knew it was worth the wait. Right off the bat I noticed the service was superb. I was greeted with kindness and felt acknowledged. Once I got seated at the bar, I was able to get a great view of the beautiful and delicious waffles being wiped out due to its popularity. I was intrigued. I started my morning with a mimosa and waffle added dark chocolate dipping sauce side. When I tell you I can still taste it in this very moment.........!!!! Size was smaller than I'm used to, but wow. Did it teach me to savor every bite and take my time. My server/barista was extremely helpful as it was my first time visiting. She guided me on what to order. I trusted her to make me a hot oat mocha the way she liked it.. and I wish I could drink it everyday!! The le complet was the perfect meal for the price and the proportion. Did I forget to mention how gorgeous the plate was???
My friend and I first tried to come on a Saturday morning they were really busy and quoted us around an hour's wait, so we came back on Monday. Fortunately we were able to get seated immediately (around 9h30am ish? but it was still very busy, so be ready to queue a bit. Their speciality seems to be their Belgian waffles, so of course I had to try that. I ordered two with the mixed berry compote, greek yoghurt, and maple syrup. It was quite good, I enjoyed it overall, but I didn't really feel like it would have been worth waiting an hour+ for? In fact, the waffle itself was actually on the blander side. The berry compote was yummy, albeit a bit more sour than expected. I did love the maple syrup, though, which was SO yummy (and thankfully not too sweet in a sickly/overpowering way . Overall not bad, and also not too pricey either. My friend also ordered an avocado toast, which was pretty good too. There was such a generous serving of avocado (in this economy! and the focaccia toast was interesting because of how flat it was (physically which made the overall texture rather unique. All in all also a good dish. Good experience but I don't think I would have queued for this. Also, I saw so many other tables with delicious (many variants of steak and eggs, etc. that I'd love to try in the future.
