Ramen 101 - Vallejo

The vegetable tempura was mostly onion rings, which was disappointing this time. The chicken plate was tasty, but there were no soy sauce packets! I’ll definitely order again, but I’ll choose different items next time!

The tonkotsu ramen lacked flavor and was quite disappointing. The noodles were decent, and the chashu was acceptable, but the spicy option was a letdown. I had high hopes since the place came highly recommended, but I left feeling very disappointed.

We ordered Seafood Ramen, Tonkotsu Ramen, and Chicken Ramen, and all of them were delicious with generous portions and ingredients. The Geso Fry (squid legs) was quite good and satisfying, while the Vegetable Tempura was a bit tough—not bad, but I had to chew on it more than usual, which was unexpected. Everything was packaged well and stayed hot for quite a while. I would definitely return, although I'd consider a different choice for the tempura.

The Black Garlic Ramen was incredibly tasty! It was crafted with great skill. The Chicken Katsu was equally outstanding, and the portion size was quite generous.

The tonkotsu ramen was disappointing and didn't compare to other places that truly understand how to make authentic ramen. The karaage tasted more like Chinese popcorn chicken and was overcooked rather than being properly flash-fried. I suspect that those who think this restaurant serves good ramen might only have experience with instant noodles like Top Ramen or Cup Noodles, rather than the real deal from excellent establishments like Ryujin, Hiroshi, Himawari, Ramen Dojo, Santa Ramen, and others. The spam musubi was also overly rice-heavy. I won't be returning to this restaurant.
