Chandlers Country Cafe - Ulverston

The café/restaurant at the hotel, Wax Lyrical, is quite excellent. We enjoyed both the delicious bacon baguette and the turkey baguette from the specials board, each priced at £8.50. The portion sizes were generous, and we also ordered a teapot for two at £3.60. Both baguettes were served with chips, a rich gravy, and a rather unusual salad garnish. The place was bustling, and the tables were in high demand, which made it a bit challenging for the staff to manage seating. Despite this, I would definitely go back again.

The food is delicious, the service is quick, and the staff is friendly and helpful. We've been visiting for many years—first as a couple and now with our 12-year-old son. It has always felt welcoming, from the time he was a baby right up to today.
