The Morefield And Mariners - Ullapool

This is a very disappointing experience. I had booked a room last year through booking.com, but had to postpone my stay to May 26 due to the coronavirus pandemic. I had received confirmation that the change had been agreed upon. However, when I arrived at the hotel today after traveling from Newcastle, I found that it was closed as indicated on their website. With nowhere else to stay on Ascension Day, I was lucky to finally find a room at the Royal Hotel with the help of the Caladonian Hotel. My advice is to avoid booking at this hotel. On the plus side, at least we didn't have to spend the night in our car.

UPDATE: As of May 2022, this establishment is no longer a hotel and does not offer accommodations. However, it is still an ideal spot for our group of mature bikers as we can park our motorcycles right outside our room. The restaurant serves excellent food and breakfasts, making it worth a visit even if you are not staying overnight. This family-run business has a welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff. I made a reservation in October 2021 to stay at this restaurant for 5 days in April 2022. However, when I called in February 2022 to inquire about off-site amenities, I was informed that the motel had been sold at Christmas. The staff could not guarantee that the new owners would honor our booking. It was extremely disappointing that they did not have the decency to inform us earlier so that we could find alternative accommodation before everything was fully booked, especially in such a popular location. Their unprofessional attitude was unacceptable.

Stopped here while touring the NC500. Ended up staying the night. Food was great, but not as great as the service and welcome. If youre looking for somewhere to stay while touring definitely a decent place to call in. Also big field around the corner to walk the dogs and a big tesco 2 minutes away to stock up.

The owner of the Riverside B B where we were staying recommended the Moorfield and we were not disappointed at all, the service was excellent just as the food was, I had the best Guinness Steak pie ever and hubby had the Burns Chicken, highly recommend the Moorside if you are visiting Ullapool for work or pleasure Service: 5 Location: 5
