Great. Old buildings and decor, but meals are authentic mexican (simple, but tasteful, not the usual texmex most of us are used). I actually prefer to texmex. Prices are very reasonable. The staff is pleasant and attentive. When busy, it can wait a bit for the food coming out, but you get the sense that someone carefully prepares your order, not something from a pot and drop it on a tortilla as the dish comes out of the kitchen. Tldr- go, you'll like it.

The restaurant feels cozier once you're inside, but the overall service and quality were excellent. I ordered a small shrimp cocktail, which had a nice kick to it—really tasty, but a bit too spicy for me. The portion sizes for the kids' plates were great; they were big enough to feed both of my children, which is impressive! I saw them both happily sharing one plate. I also tried the tacos, which were amazing, but I opted to skip the meat since it was Friday. Overall, a really enjoyable experience!

Great place. Usually not busy. I feel this place is greatly underappreciated. Excellent food and good service. We tried the anaconda burrito for my husband and I to share and it was so much that we had another meal each out of it. Also love that aside from the normal chips and salsa, they have these corn puff things (I forget what they are called) but they are tasty.

We gave El Mezquite another try and I'm happy we did. The service was great and the food was hot and delicious. Give this place a try if you're looking to for a more authentic Mexican selection.
