Contribuiți la feedbackWe had a terrible experience for the following reasons: (1) kabob was served cold not even at room temperature COLD. Even if one carefully calculates the time that it takes to bring the food from the kitchen to the table with any potential delay factor accounted for you should still not get a cold kabob. (2) The kabob barg had zero flavor. It's very challenging to turn tenderloin into a tasteless piece of meat. Wonder how they do that honestly. (3) Less than 10 min after we paid the bill two servers appeared on our table and asked us to leave because they were closing. This happens at 9:30 p.m. on Saturday night; we are not talking about midnight during the week. (4) decoration is outdated. It reminds you of restaurants in remote areas in Iran that never got updated.
Food was very good. Orders were Chicken Barg Sultani and Beef Shish Kebob. The Sultani portions in particular were generous. However the food wasn't served hot. It seemed like it sat around for a while before being served.
We have dined at Persian Room twice. On both occasions, the food was delicious. Some typical items (e.g., hummus) and some unusual items (e.g., eggplant with whey), and all very successful and satisfying. The portion sizes are a bit overwhelming but that means there is plenty to take home for another meal or two. The space is beautiful, which is unexpected in a strip mall location on Thornydale Road. The first time we had excellent service from a knowledgeable, helpful, and professional waiter, as well as a pleasant conversation with the owner. But this time, our waiter was very rushed. He also was dressed so that his pants appeared to be falling down beneath his belly and rump. It was very unappetizing. In addition, the wine I ordered was very disappointing and not at all as described on the menu. The waiter said he knew nothing about wine. Perhaps Persian Room is having a staffing problem. I will pause before returning, despite the excellent cuisine.
Very nice decor and good service. A large menu from which to choose. Low noise level so it was easy to talk.
The restaurant was very busy the night we dined. Most tables were filled with 6 or more customers. Even though the service was slow because they had only 3 servers, the waitress was very pleasant, took care of us to the best of her abilities, and kept apologizing for not being more attentive. Then the food came out and I was even more impressed. I knew the kitchen had to be slammed, but despite this, the meat was cooked to perfection--not dry, tender, and delicious. We have eaten Persian food pretty often because my husband's best friend is Persian and we have had many meals at his friend's mother's home.In our opinion, it is the best Persian restaurant in Tucson. This was our second visit to the Persian Room and we are already planning to return.
