Gold - Tucson

Maybe my worst culinary experience ever! Too many problems to list here, but for beginners, do not say that you serve lobster bisque when the lobster is clearly rock shrimps. The lady at the table next to us with a shrimp allergy was very unhappy! Our cocktails came 45 minutes after we had ordered them, and our wine never came! My medium, rarely ordered lamb came well done, and both our entries were so salty that they were almost unusable. We paid for a 3-course fixed-priced meal, but after we had waited half an hour for our dessert, we left and had somewhere different dessert. We actually had fun laughing all night about how bad everything was, but the other guests were not so happy! Avoid this restaurant. Terrible food and service!

That was such a disappointment. We prepaid for this special Valentine’s Day “Experience” but the restaurant was completely unprepared. Our server was overwhelmed with too many tables and it seemed like it was brand new and not trained at all. All guests were serviced. Our ducks arrived over an hour after sitting. Waiting could have been worth it, but the Entrees were mediocre. My lamb sleeves, which I rarely ordered medium, were so overcooked that I literally couldn't cut them through with a steak knife. My dessert, Red Velvet Cake, tasted like it was from a freezer. I'm The Busboys wouldn't even refill our water, even when it comes to it. Our server and other people on the ground wouldn't make eye contact because we're afraid we're asking something like a cocktail. My husband ordered a beer that lasted 20 minutes. I could go on. Let me just say that what should have been a quiet, romantic Valentine's Day dinner was extremely stressful and not worth the price we paid.

Had my two favorite dishes — lobster bisque and chilean lake bass. Both were carefully prepared and delicious. I couldn't believe how big the lobster sheds were. Nice wine on the glass. attentive server. We only come to Tucson every few years, but gold is still a favorite. Nice to see the lights over the city.

This was one of our favorite spots for years but this evening was very disappointing for many reasons service, food, and we were the only ones there.
