Super restaurant! fun summer eat outdoor in hancock, ny.

There is much hope for the Hancock Deposit Windsor food and art scene. My wife and I stopped into Unclebrother, an art gallery restuarant and a day later we're still beaming about our discovery. It's hard to resist fine food and fine art in a unique setting (former car dealership in a small Catskill town). Gloria, the lovely and talented chef cooked a delicious and authentic Puerto Rican meal of carne guisado with rice and beans (my dad's from PR, so I know how authentic this meal was). As a starter we had cod fritters that were fantastic! Oh, and the veggie's in a Thai Curry sauce was amazing!! We can't wait to go back!!!

Unassuming space with spectacular food and engaging art. What a gift to Hancock for a summer Friday or Saturday night! The former car dealership was founded in the 50's by a dear friend of ours, Art Debresia. Google states that the cuisine is Italian although the prix fix menu has all sorts of other offerings depending on the moment of inspiration) Personally the irony is not lost, that we would dine with the Debresias on Saturday nights having Italian! The vacated space has the kitchen drink stand dj booth pantry eating area mid plan in the former Parts Dept. The dining room projection space is in the front former showroom space. The former garage bays in the back are striped bare of their remnants of auto repair and left unfinished for their patina. Partitions now skew the bays to form the open gallery displaying delightful art of various media. The food is an impossible juxtaposition of wonderful quality and reasonable price. Truly a labor of love.

Out of sight! Great food, convivial folks, both customers and staff...a neat place to eat and talk. You'll always meet someone interesting. We need more places like this!

Excellent vibe. Great bar; fun people and the quality food just doesn’t stop. The curry was enough but I was happy to keep eating everything that came out—— smart, clever, engaging food. And I wanted ALL the art; the current show is really amazing. Go!
