This is a fantastic budget-friendly spot for breakfast and lunch. They offer delicious breakfast bowls and tasty sandwiches for lunch. The atmosphere is easy-going and clean, with ample seating and good coffee. While the service may not be overly friendly, which is a bit surprising for a place you might visit frequently, it’s definitely worth it for the quality of food.
A new breakfast and lunch spot has opened in the space that used to be a local market and deli. The atmosphere is inviting, the staff are friendly, and the food is enjoyable. While the baked goods are sourced from another place and are somewhat limited, they are tasty. However, my main concern is that every meal is served in a basket lined with waxed paper. This works well for sandwiches, but it's not ideal for breakfast items like fried or scrambled eggs, as they don’t hold up well on paper after just a short time. Additionally, the utensils are plastic. I suspect they may be dealing with water or septic system limitations, but the soggy paper presentation is unappealing and the excessive plastic waste feels out of place in 2021. I truly hope they find a better solution.
My wife and I ate here for lunch and breakfast this past weekend. Just a great vibe in this place: Friendly staff, fast service and really good food. A great mix of locals and the occasional tourist. The cheesesteak was especially good. Browse the store for all sorts of items to buy from maple syrup to a variety of art. The bagels near the cash register are also amazing! We will be back the next time we're in Franklin.
Had to check out the new deli in town, which used to be Dawn's Deli. It has been completely renovated and the space is much more open. It even has a private room in the back now. It is brightly painted and has huge floor to ceiling windows in the front that bring in a lot of light. There are some local goods for sale, a small selection of grocery staples, and artwork for sale on one wall. There are a few tables and booths for indoor dining. The menu is written on the wall next to the counter which includes breakfast selections, sandwiches, salad, and kids. The fancy handwriting is a little hard to read. Average prices range from $4 11 (see photo). The breakfast is served until 11am (tried to order a breakfast item in the afternoon, but menu did not indicate times for breakfast or lunch). We ordered 3 sandwiches to try and the famous local Clark's chocolate milk. You can customize the sandwiches with bread type, meat, and cheese. There was a little confusion during the ordering, understandable since they just opened and getting the hang of things. Everything I saw was being served in takeout boxes. We got the reuben, corned beef club, and roast beef hero. The club sandwich was stacked so high it took me a minute to figure out how to take a bite! The ingredients were fresh and on nice bread, but I realized later on that it didn't have any mayo which would have made for a more moist sandwich. There was a little mix up with the roast beef hero we had actually asked for a roast beef club, but on a hero roll (we noticed the sandwich didn't have bacon). They must have thought we ordered a regular hero. The roast beef wasn't pink in the middle, but still had good flavor. My favorite sandwich was the corned beef reuben, but I only got a bite before handing off to my dad. They all came with housemade potato chips which were excellent. The staff were friendly but busy. Food didn't take too long but it gave us enough time to browse the rest of the shop.
